EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum

History & Culture | Interactive experience

A paperback on the nightstand

“Small island. Massive impact.”

Ever wondered how a tiny island like Ireland made such a big mark on the world? Head to EPIC and find out.

Located in Dublin's Docklands, inside the historic CHQ Building, EPIC tells the story of the millions of Irish people who left home and went on to shape the world. From music and sport to science, politics, literature and beyond, you'll discover the incredible people and stories behind the Irish diaspora.

And don't worry. This isn't one of those museums where you quietly shuffle from room to room reading endless information boards. EPIC is packed with interactive displays, immersive experiences, videos and fascinating stories that bring Irish history to life. You can even collect stamps in your own EPIC passport as you explore the galleries. History class, but make it fun!

Allow around 90 minutes to two hours to explore at your own pace. And while you're in the Docklands, why not check out the nearby Jeanie Johnston famine ship or take a stroll along the River Liffey?

Your challenge: Think you've got Irish roots somewhere around the world? Keep an eye out for stories that might connect with your own family history.
Budget tip: EPIC is a ticketed attraction, so book online ahead of time to plan your visit and check the latest prices. It's a great option for a rainy Dublin day when you fancy something a little different.

Find tickets and visitor information at EPIC's official website.
