“Tiny treasures, big stories.”

Tucked away inside Dublin Castle, the Chester Beatty is one of those places that might not be on every tourist's radar, but it absolutely deserves a spot on your list.

Step inside and discover a fascinating collection of rare books, beautiful illustrations, ancient manuscripts, miniature paintings and sacred texts from cultures around the world. It's a little like travelling the world without leaving Dublin, with incredible stories and artwork waiting around every corner.

Not usually a museum person? Don't worry. You don't need to know your Renaissance from your ancient history to enjoy this one. Wander around, pick out the things that catch your eye and see where curiosity takes you. Give yourself an hour or two to explore properly.

When you're finished, check out the rooftop garden if it's open. It's a lovely little escape from the city buzz. You can also explore Dublin Castle's courtyards before heading off to discover the nearby streets, cafes and bars.
